A yard with
room for it all.
A wood deck runs beside the house, while the open center of the yard leaves room around a mature tree. Tall timber fencing gives the space a clear edge.

From the seating area, the deck, planting and open yard read as one place. The different surfaces give each part of the space its own role.
A low step connects the timber surface to the ground. Gravel and planting soften the transition between deck and yard.
