BigDecks · Design & build · Austin

Water changes the whole backyard.

BigDecks designs and builds pools and the outdoor spaces around them in Austin: custom gunite, our small concrete tank and Plungie pools. Start with Design Assist or bring your plans.

Three ways to make room for water.

Custom gunite

A pool designed for your site, with the shape, proportions and surrounding space considered together. Structure, equipment and finish are specified for the project.

Our small concrete tank

A compact BigDecks option for a more intimate bathing space. We work through the dimensions, construction, finish and equipment during design; final specifications are confirmed in your proposal.

Choose the pool around the life you want.

Three starting points for Design Assist
Pool approachWhat we work throughWhat shapes the build
Custom guniteShape, proportions, depth, finish and the relationship to the garden.A site-built design with project-specific engineering, equipment and construction scope.
BigDecks small tankA compact bathing space, its dimensions, seating and the surrounding deck or stone.Final tank specifications, equipment and site requirements are developed for the proposal.
PlungieThe manufacturer model, placement, finish and the setting around a defined pool form.Delivery and lifting access, base, utilities, equipment and the surrounding construction.

The pool shell is one part of the project. We also consider access, ground conditions, drainage, utilities, barriers and the places you’ll sit, walk and gather.

The pool is only part of the place.

A low stone edge. Broad timber underfoot. Grasses that catch the late light. We take the ease of a European courtyard and give it a BigDecks setting: substantial wood, Texas stone and planting selected for your property.

During Design Assist we consider water, paths, shade, privacy, seating and the view from inside the house. Cobblestone and limestone options are reviewed for comfort, drainage and the way they meet the pool.

Plan the practical details early.

Site and access

Review surveys, levels, setbacks, utilities, soil information and access for construction or pool delivery.

Pool systems

Coordinate circulation, filtration, equipment location, service access and utility connections with the selected pool.

Requirements and scope

Confirm engineering, permits, barriers, drainage and inspections for the site. Installation timing and price follow the approved scope; they are not assumed from the pool shell alone.

How do we start?

Start with tiered, paid Design Assist to develop the pool and backyard together. If you already have plans, request a build review. We quote the design and construction separately, with the included work confirmed in writing.
